In some cases, as with the Will & Grace revival, it was helped by the fact that the characters had plenty of narrative opportunities after so long off the air. Gilmore Girls, Veronica Mars, and Will & Grace are some of the well-known titles that have returned for brief runs after initially signing off. White Collar would hardly be the first show to return after initially wrapping things up. Whether the reunion will happen soon, similarly to the recent Parks and Recreation episode, or if it’s a more long-term project remains to be seen.

In the series finale, it is revealed that Caffrey had faked his own death. DeKay also chimed in, which fueled speculation that the trio could be collaborating on some sort of revival. Suggesting the character should come out of retirement, the sentiment was quickly met with support from Bomer himself. Taking to Twitter, Eastin shared a photo of the fedora that Caffrey is famous for wearing. In late April, Eastin teased the return of White Collar. The USA Network series was a hit with audiences, many of whom enjoyed the evolution of Caffrey’s friendship with FBI agent Peter Burke (Tim DeKay). White Collar was partially inspired by the true story of conman Frank Abagnale Jr, who also served as inspiration for Steven Spielberg’s Catch Me If You Can. Caffrey relies on his skills and knowledge in the areas of counterfeiting and art thievery in order to serve as an unlikely ally. Premiering on USA Network in 2009 and lasting until 2014, White Collar centered around Neal Caffrey (Bomer), a conman who agrees to help the FBI capture other criminals in exchange for his freedom. A revival of the drama series White Collar is teased further by series creator Jeff Eastin and star Matt Bomer.
